If your face has experienced signs of facial fat loss that result in an overall older appearance, Scottsdale Sculptra may be a viable option for you. Safely in use since 1999, this treatment has been utilized by over 150,000 patients in Arizona and across the globe.
What is Sculptra?
Scottsdale Sculptra provides an increase in the skin’s thickness of the areas where previous amounts of volume has been lost. Commonly referred to as “facial wasting”, this phenomenon can age the face years more than you may truly feel. Composed of poly-L-lactic acid, the synthetic quality of Scottsdale Sculptra does not require a skin test and the benefits are long lasting. The treatment can increase skin thickness for almost two years in many patients and is generally done in a series of two to four treatments.
Procedure
There are very few risks associated with Scottsdale Sculptra. Complications may include tenderness, redness, and discomfort at the injection points, which can last for up to two weeks. Your doctor will typically recommend an ice pack after your procedure to reduce swelling at the injection site.
During the procedure, your doctor will select injection points for each area to be treated. Then, the specific injection point will be filled with Sculptra beneath the skin, under the dermis and subcutis layer. After treatment, your results will last for up to two years. However, due to the non-permanent nature of the procedure, follow up treatments will have to be conducted in order to maintain your results.

As 2011 approaches, so too does an opportunity to begin a new year with a slim figure. If you suffer from troublesome areas of cellulite on your hips, abdomen, buttocks, arms, calves, neck, or bra line, VelaShape can help contour these areas and give you a smoother appearance.
What is VelaShape?
This procedure is an FDA-approved treatment that specifically attacks cellulite. It utilizes electrical-optical synergy, bi-polar radio frequency, infrared light energies, vacuum pressure, and tissue manipulation to take inches away from areas that experience annoying amounts of cellulite. Scottsdale VelaShape is designed for people who live an otherwise healthy and active lifestyle, but are tired of areas that are resistant to weight loss.
Scottsdale VelaShape is an excellent solution for individuals who are interested in contouring specific areas of their body to look more attractive and shapely. The procedure’s infrared energies increase oxygen to the cells by heating the skin’s dermal layers. This shrinks the size of the targeted area’s fat chambers by increasing the cell’s metabolism. Scottsdale VelaShape produces a sensation similar to a warm, deep tissue massage with little to no discomfort.
Benefits
Aside from providing you with a smoother appearance on specific areas like the hips and buttocks, VelaShape can decrease muscle aches and pains, increase circulation, provide you with firmer, tighter skin, and improve your self confidence and body image. What better way to usher in a new year than with a firm, contoured figure?

Though you have many options for Scottsdale VelaShape, the experienced and qualified staff at BodyNew MedSpa will leave you feeling satisfied with your procedure. Contact us today to schedule a complimentary consultation today!

Scottsdale Botox is a safe and effective solution to smooth frown lines around the mouth, on the forehead, and below the nose. Injections can also improve the appearance of the “crow’s feet” that appear around many individual’s eyes as they age. Botox has been used for years by doctors to successfully treat these types of wrinkles and facial creases, officially becoming approved by the Food and Drug Administration in the 1980s.
How does it Work?
Botox improves the appearance of facial creases and wrinkles by blocking signals from the nerves to targeted facial muscles. The injected muscle loses its ability to contract, causing the wrinkles to relax, soften, and diminish in appearance.
The procedure takes only a few minutes and requires no anesthesia. It causes only mild discomfort and generally takes three to seven days to take full effect. The results of a Scottsdale Botox procedure can benefit you for four to six months; after this time, muscle action gradually returns, causing lines and winkles to re-appear. With time, however, the wrinkles become less severe because the targeted muscles are trained to relax.
The side effects of Botox are minimal. Temporary bruising is a common side effect. Headaches can occur, though this is very rare and resolves itself in 24 – 48 hours. In order to reduce the chances of Botox moving beyond the site of injection, it is important that you do not rub the treated area for 12 hours after injection or lay down for three to four hours following your procedure.
Keep in Mind
It is important to remember that you should only undergo a Scottsdale Botox procedure under the care and supervision of a qualified professional. Some patients are tricked into seeing less-than-experienced “technicians” who do not have access to safe, medical-grade Botox and lack the expertise required to properly administer the injections. Steer clear of these types of “professionals” and instead make sure that your Botox procedure is performed by a trusted and licensed medical professional, such as those that can be found at an Arizona Medical Spa.

The skin on our faces tends to be exposed to the most damaging effects of day-to-day living. Day in and day out, our facial skin is buffeted by the sun’s harmful rays, harsh winds, and aging radicals like secondhand smoke and smog, to name a few damaging radicals. Furthermore, time has its effect on our skin, breaking down our natural levels of collagen and elasticity and causing our skin to sag. Wrinkles, fine lines, and undesired pigmentation can appear over time, leaving you looking and feeling older than you truly are.
Despite this, there are ways to unveil youthful, beautiful skin. Scottsdale facials and other treatments can possess chemicals that may be harsh for your skin; for a more natural, mechanical way to slough off old skin, your best option may be to turn to Scottsdale microdermabrasion.
What is Scottsdale Microdermabrasion?
As opposed to the chemical nature of Scottsdale facials, microdermabrasion is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that uses a spray of micro crystals to remove your skin’s outermost layer of dead, dry, and old skin cells. This reveals younger, healthier-looking skin in as little as an hour.
Microdermabrasion is a proven exfoliation treatment that has been around since the 1980s. Usually, the procedure is done in a serious in order to provide you with the highest level of satisfaction and quality results.
What Can I Expect?
After undergoing a Scottsdale microdermabrasion procedure, you can expect to see diminished or even removed signs of wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, light acne scars, and other undesired pigmentation. This is because microdermabrasion results in a thickened epidermis and a more even skin tone and texture. You can expect to see softer, smoother, younger-looking skin. Furthermore, microdermabrasion removes the dead layer of skin that used to dull and age your face, leaving you looking more vibrant and radiant.
Microdermabrasion can also be combined with a light peel or mask. This combination will leave you feeling relaxed and pampered, both of which will help perpetuate your youthful look. The procedure is also referred to as the “lunch hour treatment” because it can be performed in about an hour with little or no discomfort.
As with any procedure, it is recommended that you continue a normal skin care regimen that includes sun protection. One of the best ways to preserve your youthful look is to wear a daily sunscreen in order to reduce the chances of sun damage.

Reasons to go to a Medical Spa
The constant exposure your face has to various damaging elements is frightening. Your skin is faced with sun damage, harsh climates, harmful products, and damaging radicals that can leave skin looking and feeling dull, dirty, and far from its best. However, there are options for you to cleanse your skin and revitalize it with a youthful glow, and it is best done through a Scottsdale facial.
Many people choose to go to spas and salons in order to receive cosmetic treatments like facials and injections, but a better option exists that is far safer than any spa. Medical spas in Arizona are becoming particularly popular as more and more people recognize their supreme merit. Here are some reasons why an Arizona medical spa should be your next destination.
They consider your history. Undergoing a procedure at a medical spa means that qualified professionals will assess your previous history in order to customize your procedure. The best medical spa technicians will look into your facial habits, skin-care methods, and the products you use in order to determine a Scottsdale facial that will best meet your needs.
They offer the best products and techniques. Medical spas in Arizona have access to the latest and most technologically advanced products and tools on the medical market, meaning that you will receive the best service possible. Medical-grade skin-care products can be used at medical spas, so your procedure has the potential to be far more beneficial than if you were to get it at a normal spa or salon.
They are headed by a licensed medical professional. In order to qualify as an Arizona medical spa, a doctor (or multiple doctors) must be on staff. This means that each customer has the ability to discuss their medical concerns with the doctor, preview whether or not the products they are using will cause any negative side effects, and form a personalized method of treatment that will benefit the patient exponentially.
The costs are comparable. Aside from the numerous benefits of getting a procedure done at an Arizona medical spa, the costs are very comparable to those of a regular salon or spa.
This is your skin, and it deserves the best. Though a spa or salon might provide you with a hot tub, a medical spa provides you with real, tested, safe procedures that are led by a qualified medical professional. Your skin should be placed in trusted hands, and you will find those hands at a great Arizona medical spa.

Why do I need a Photofacial?
If you are tired of looking older than you feel due to age lines and redness, a photofacial may be the perfect solution for you. This procedure constricts collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis (the topmost layer of skin), resulting in reduced age lines and diminished redness.
This procedure, officially identified as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), can correct facial skin imperfections, signs of aging, birthmarks, unwanted hair, small veins, and blemishes all in a safe, non-invasive way. During the procedure, the photofacial device is placed against the skin and delivers a warm flash of bright light to an area encompassing about one square inch of skin. This flash is delivered every two to four seconds and encourages the production of collagen, the skin’s natural wrinkle-filling material. Collagen production is stimulated over the course of five to twelve weeks.
Redness may persist following a Scottsdale photofacial procedure for a few minutes or one to two days, with the benefits of the treatment truly becoming noticeable in the following weeks. For optimal results, your dermatologist may recommend five full-face photofacial sessions three weeks apart.
There is little to no down time for the patient, though as always, routine skin care and sunscreen practices are recommended.

Why Consider Fraxel Laser Resurfacing?
This laser treatment is revolutionary in the sense that it is safe, invasive, and utilizes the abilities of your own skin to create its improved appearance. Fraxel works with a “fractional” approach to skin resurfacing by focusing on only a small portion of the skin; this enroucages the production of new collagen, giving the skin a more healthy appearance.
Fraxel is ideal for candidates who wish to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. This technique is less of an inconvenience to your daily routine when compared to other procedures; for example, procedures like chemical peels can irritate the skin, while Fraxel resurfaces the skin with minimal impact. In fact, many clients are able to return to regular activities within a day or two following treatment.
Fraxel is most often used for aesthetic issues like early aging signs, skin discoloration, and uneven texture. For more severe issues, your BodyNew MedSpa dermatologist may recommend something a bit more aggressive like a facelift or brow lift.
Scottsdale Fraxel may be an excellent solution for you if you are in need of solutions for acne scarring, as well. This procedure can yield results after just one treatment, and some clients even report reduced pore size with minimal downtime after the procedure. Your skin will look a bit sunburned after undergoing a Scottsdale Fraxel treatment, but a good moisturizer like natural aloe will help heal your skin over the next few days.

As the skin ages, it naturally begins to develop folds, lines, and wrinkles that may make you feel older than you truly are. In these instances, injectables are a great solution; they serve as mechanical wrinkle fillers and can inflate a troubled spot temporarily, leaving you with smooth skin that lasts several months.
However, with so many injectables on the market today, it is important that you discuss your options with a qualified surgeon in order to determine which injectable is right for you.
If you are tired of having wrinkles in your forehead, along the nasolabial lines, and at your smile lines, Scottsdale Restylane may be the right solution for you. Approved by the FDA in 2003, Restylane is a growing favorite among surgeons due to its positive and long-lasting results; the effects of Scottsdale Restylane treatments can benefit you for six months or more.
What Happens During the Procedure?
Restylane is a clear gel made from non-animal-based hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring chemical found in the human body. This decreases risks for complications since your body can naturally absorb the gel after several months.
During the procedure, injections are administered in a doctor’s office. Patients are typically between 35 to 60 years of age and treatment is most often performed with local anesthetic. Though there may be slight discomfort from the needle during the injections, patients typically only have to go through a 5 to 30 minute procedure depending on the area being serviced.
Patients able to return home shortly after treatment and results become fully apparent within one week.
How Long is Recovery?
The skin typically swells after undergoing a Scottsdale Restylane treatment, but it typically only lasts for two or three days. Though patients are able to resume normal activities immediately, it is best to stay out of the sun until healing is complete. You may experience headache, nausea, redness, and pain at the injection points, but these are all normal occurrences that can be treated after consulting with your doctor.
What about the Cost?
Restylane is a cosmetic procedure and thus is not typically covered by insurance, unless it is out of medical necessity. Patients typically receive multiple Restylane injections, but these vary in cost depending on the number of targeted areas and their severity.
Discuss your payment options with your surgeon if you face any financial difficulty; many offices offer payment plans that can fit most budgets.
It is important that you discuss all of your options with a qualified professional who has experience with Restylane injections. Be sure to view your doctor’s credentials and success rate in order to receive the best treatment possible.
